My Priorities

When our students, families, and schools thrive, so does Nashville. As the city continues its growth, we must equip our students to grow with it. This starts with ensuring all students, including those in District 8, have access to a high-quality education. Our schools must meet students where they are, and help them achieve their fullest potential.

I have seen firsthand how a great education can lift families and communities. I believe students in Nashville are uniquely positioned to be our city’s future leaders, entrepreneurs, and artists. As a former teacher, I have witnessed the profound impact educators can have on students and families. As a school board member, I will enact policies that create the conditions for schools to move every student forward towards success. Join us!

I believe the MNPS School Board must:

Set Ambitious Goals & Measure What Matters

  • Set high expectations for all students at every school
  • Act swiftly when students or schools fall behind

Focus on our People

  • Recruit, reward and retain excellent staff, teachers and principals
  • Provide teachers and staff with the support necessary for success

Build Shared Trust & Expand Opportunity

  • Welcome families as true partners in student and school success.
  • Engage community partners to address students’ social, emotional and physical needs that serve as barriers to learning

Place Students at the Center of our Decisions

  • Engage students as partners in their own learning
  • Evaluate every decision that comes before the board in the context of what will best serve students
